Musgrove Mill

Musgrove Mill was on the Enoree River and was also the location of a ford across the river. It is about 24 miles from our bridge at Trough Shoals. This was the site of a Patriot victory that took place on August 19th, 1780 three months before the Battle of Blackstocks. A group of Patriot militia approached a large band of Tories near the mill. The Tories were lured into attacking the Patriots and were badly beaten. More details about the battle can be read at Battle of Musgrove Mill.

Today, there is a very interesting museum and Revolutionary War interpretive center at the location of the old mill. It is the Musgrove Mill State Historic Site.  Additional information is given on the website at
Musgrove Mill.
